With global IT emissions nearly triple those of the aviation industry and projected to account for up to 20% of global electricity consumption by 2030, GoCodeGreen is proud to announce two pivotal new appointments. These additions underscore the company’s commitment to leading the way in sustainable IT transformation. Olivia Dalziel joins as Chief Operating Officer, bringing 20 years of cross-sector expertise, while Karina Dennis joins as a Consultant, representing the next generation of sustainability-focused talent.
Olivia Dalziel brings two decades of experience spanning finance, business consulting, government, and NGOs. Her track record of driving business transformation, operational excellence, and sustainable development across Europe, North America, and the Middle East positions her to amplify GoCodeGreen’s mission of IT decarbonisation.
“The scale of the challenge we face in balancing technological progress with environmental sustainability is immense,” said Olivia. “IT emissions now account for up to 30% of an organisation’s overall emissions -according to Gartner – a number set to grow as technology advances. GoCodeGreen is working with clients to both measure and reduce the carbon impact of their digital products and services, enabling organisations to create a more sustainable future. I’m excited to join this talented team and contribute to a world where technology drives progress responsibly.”
As sustainability expertise in technology becomes increasingly critical GoCodeGreen is thrilled to welcome Karina Dennis as a Consultant. A recent graduate with a 1st from King’s College London with a passion for sustainability, Karina’s appointment highlights GoCodeGreen’s dedication to nurturing emerging talent and fostering fresh perspectives.
“Joining GoCodeGreen feels like a dream come true,” said Karina. “The company’s mission and innovative approach to IT sustainability are groundbreaking. I’m eager to contribute to meaningful change alongside such a forward-thinking team.” Karina previously enjoyed a spell as an intern with GoCodeGreen and we are delighted to see her return.
CEO Eric Zie emphasised the importance of these strategic hires: “High-growth businesses thrive on the strength of their people. Olivia’s extensive experience and strategic vision will propel us forward, while Karina’s fresh perspective adds invaluable energy to our mission. Together, they reflect our commitment to fostering diverse expertise and driving sustainable innovation.”
These appointments come as IT’s environmental impact continues to rise. Data centres alone account for approximately 3% of global electricity consumption, and the growing adoption of AI and machine learning will only increase this figure. GoCodeGreen’s expertise is critical for organisations striving to balance digital transformation with environmental responsibility.
With Olivia’s leadership and Karina’s fresh outlook, GoCodeGreen is poised to continue shaping the sustainability landscape of IT, helping clients achieve their environmental goals while driving technological progress.
